Born in Chiba, Japan, Taca first started his career as a hairstylist in Japan in 1996. His talent was soon recognized, and in 1998 he was brought on board as a Redken Hair Colourist. During this time, he also held a prestigious teaching position at Redken Japan, lecturing up-and-coming stylists across Japan. In 2002, Taca relocated toCanada to continue his work as a hairstylist with Redken.
Captivated by the work of surrounding makeup artists, he began studying makeup in 2006 which quickly became a passion.
In 2007, this passion led him to enroll in Toronto’s George Brown College to further his studies and natural talent in makeup artistry. He has since worked with leading artists, directly assisting L’Oreal Paris’ Eddie Maleterre at Toronto Fashion Week - a collaboration that began in 2007.
Taca has also worked on the set of numerous prestigious runway shows including the Redken ABA, Toronto Fashion week, the Toronto Film Festival and NY fashion week ports 1961 back stage .
A new chapter now begins in his career as he is named Principal Makeup Artist for shu uemura in Canada. He has been trained by shu uemura’s International Trainer – Park San, and officially begins his work with the brand since July 2009.
Taca’s affinity for makeup is inspired by another love - painting, which has shown him how art can touch people’s lives and make them happy. As per a Japanese saying, Taca believes that "colour is personality". As he changes his canvas, his mission will be to try to bring out each individual’s personality, beauty and happiness.
Taca is very happy to work with shu uemura in Canada as he believes that « shu uemura goes beyond traditional makeup and skincare; a brand that truly believes in artistry.
